Therapy That Meets You Where You Are

You don’t need to become a different version of yourself to begin therapy.

I offer a warm, thoughtful and collaborative space where we can explore what is happening in your life, understand the experiences and patterns that have shaped you, and discover what meaningful change might look like for you.

Whether you are facing something specific or simply feel that something needs to change, we can begin with where you are now.

THERAPY THAT HELPS

HOW I CAN HELP

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes we know exactly what is troubling us; other times, we simply feel that something isn't quite right. Whatever you may be experiencing, you don't need to have all the answers before beginning.

Below are some of the experiences and difficulties we can explore together. Perhaps something here resonates with you.

Emotional Overwhelm

When thoughts, emotions or everyday demands begin to feel difficult to manage, leaving you anxious, overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted.

Sensitivity & Creativity

Exploring what it means to experience life deeply, while creating space for sensitivity, creativity, self-expression and your authentic self.

Relationships & Sexuality

Exploring patterns of closeness, distance, trust and attachment, and understanding how past relationships may shape the way you connect today.

Substance Use & Coping

Exploring your relationship with substances or other ways of coping with curiosity and compassion, without judgement, pressure or shame.

Grief, Loss & Change

Making space for bereavement, endings and significant life changes, and finding your own way of living alongside what has been lost.

Growth & Understanding

Therapy does not have to begin with a crisis. It can be a space to understand yourself more deeply and live more authentically.

Past & Repeating Patterns

Understanding how earlier experiences may continue to influence your emotions, relationships and choices. Create different possibilities.

Self-Worth & Identity

Understanding who you are beyond expectations, comparison and the roles you have learned to play, while developing a stronger sense of self.

Trauma & Safety

Exploring the impact of difficult experiences while developing emotional safety, self-understanding and compassion at your own pace.

You don’t need to fit neatly into a particular category. We can begin with what is happening for you and explore it together.

APPROACH

When we meet, you can expect a warm, genuine and compassionate space where you can be yourself, without pressure to know where to begin or what to say. Your feelings, experiences and choices matter, and we will work collaboratively, exploring what you need and how you would like us to work together.

You don't have to protect me from your feelings. Whether you bring sadness, anger, shame or something difficult to put into words, I will meet you with openness, compassion and a willingness to stay alongside you, even when things feel painful.

I work integratively, drawing from different therapeutic approaches depending on you and what you bring. We may explore present emotions and relationships, earlier experiences, attachment patterns and the ways you have learned to cope.

Some sessions may bring difficult emotions; others may involve reflection, creativity, humour, silence or simply feeling heard and understood. There is no single right way to do therapy.

THEORY AND APPROACH

The Thinking Behind My Approach

My work is rooted in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy, with an understanding of attachment, trauma and the relationship between mind and body. These perspectives help me understand your experiences while keeping you, rather than a particular technique, at the centre of our work.

Person-Centred Therapy

Person-centred therapy is based on the belief that you deserve to be met with empathy, honesty and acceptance. I don't see myself as an expert on your life or someone who should tell you what to do. We meet as two human beings, each bringing something valuable to the relationship. My role is to understand your world, respect your choices and support you in finding your own answers.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy helps us look beneath the surface. Sometimes the ways we feel, respond or relate to others are connected to earlier experiences that we may not fully recognise. Together, we can become curious about these patterns, understand how they developed and explore whether they still serve you today.

My Integrative Approach

I work integratively, bringing together different therapeutic perspectives to understand you as a whole person rather than focusing on one particular problem or symptom.

My work is primarily rooted in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. These approaches form the foundation of how I build therapeutic relationships, understand emotional experiences and explore the influence of earlier relationships and unconscious patterns.

Alongside these foundations, I draw on trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, parts work and an understanding of the nervous system and mind–body connection. These perspectives help me recognise how difficult experiences may shape your emotions, relationships, sense of safety and ways of protecting yourself. For me, working integratively means being curious, flexible and collaborative.

Rather than expecting you to fit into a particular therapeutic model, I adapt my understanding and approach to your individual experiences, needs and pace.

ETHICAL PRACTICE

A Safe & Ethical Space

Your wellbeing, dignity and trust are at the heart of my practice. I work in accordance with professional ethical standards, with a commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, clear boundaries and regular clinical supervision.

My aim is to offer a supportive, respectful and professionally responsible space where you can feel heard, informed and supported as we explore your experiences together, at a pace that feels right for you.
